Job summary

Care Initiatives seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to support the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department across Iowa facilities. The role emphasizes compassionate leadership, regulatory compliance, and staff development to deliver high-quality resident care.

You'll participate in rounds, guide the team, coach RNs, and handle administrative duties while maintaining infection control and safety standards; on-call rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing and Iowa eligibility.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of federal/state long-term care regulations.
• Desire to learn and grow in a quality clinical team.
• Commitment to empathy, respect, patience and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing and directing the nursing department.
• Conduct rounds to monitor care delivery and address concerns.
• Enforce policies and guide the team for growth.
• Coach RNs to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Manage administrative functions to improve department efficiency.
• Communicate with residents and families about care needs.
• Document care to meet clinical, regulatory and facility standards.
• Follow infection control, safety and compliance protocols.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with leadership team.
