Job summary
Care Initiatives is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead nursing operations across its 40+ skilled nursing communities in Iowa. This role emphasizes regulatory compliance, person-centered care, and a non-institutional approach.
You will coach and mentor nursing leaders and staff, oversee staffing, safety, budget accountability, and care coordination, and participate in on-call rotation with the leadership team. Valid Iowa RN license and CPR certification are required.
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in long-term care (ADON/DON).
- Active RN license in Iowa and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
- Empathy and patient-centered care focus.
- Ability to supervise staff and improve operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead nursing operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Champion a person-centered, home-like care model.
- Coach and mentor nursing leaders and staff.
- Ensure care coordination and smooth transitions.
- Drive staffing, safety, budget accountability and efficiency.
- Prepare team for deficiency-free surveys.
- Partner on pre-admission reviews, discharge planning and occupancy.
- Oversee rounds and address care delivery concerns with solutions.
- Foster growth and enforce policies.
- Manage administrative functions to boost efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotation with leadership.
