Care Initiatives in Iowa seeks an RN Director of Nursing to lead multiple nursing operations across communities. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, high clinical standards, and a home-like, resident-centered approach.

You will mentor nursing leaders, coordinate care transitions, manage staffing and budgets, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain deficiency-free surveys while avoiding institutional feel. On-call rotation is part of the leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience within long-term care (ADON/DON).
• Active RN license in good standing (Iowa).
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
• Desire to learn and grow as part of a clinical team.
• Strong empathy and respect in interactions with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee nursing operations with regulatory compliance and high clinical standards.
• Champion a person-centered, home-like care model.
• Coach and mentor nursing leaders to deliver relationship-based care.
• Ensure appropriate care levels via strong care coordination and smooth transitions.
• Drive staffing, safety, budget accountability, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare teams for deficiency-free surveys with non-institutional care.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams on admissions, discharge planning, and occupancy.
• Monitor care delivery through regular rounds and address concerns.
• Enforce policies while supporting personal and team growth.
• Manage administrative functions to improve department efficiency.
• Participate in on-call rotation with leadership team.
