Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to lead nursing staff and support the DON in Iowa's skilled nursing environments. This role emphasizes compassionate, compliant care and opportunities for professional growth within a multi-community organization.

The ADON will oversee clinical operations, ensure regulatory adherence, and contribute to resident well‑being while mentoring nursing teams and coordinating with families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Iowa)
• Current CPR Certification
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws
• Desire to learn and grow as part of a quality focused clinical team

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department with focus on advancement opportunities.
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor care delivery and address concerns with proposed solutions.
• Enforce policies and guide the team while fostering personal and team growth.
• Support and coach RNs to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Manage administrative functions to enhance department efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
• Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
• Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols at all times.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with other members of the leadership team.
