Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for Ambulatory Surgery Care. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate families about peri-operative processes, and prepare patients with IV therapy and medications.

You will participate in time-out and universal protocols, respond to emergencies, and work with surgeons, techs and clinicians in a collaborative OR team. The role requires an RN license, ACLS/BLS certifications (ACLS within 4 months; BLS within 90 days),

Qualifications

• ACLS certification within 4 months of employment
• BLS within 90 days of employment
• RN licensed and eligible to practice in Virginia
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient/family education about procedures and peri-operative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up
