Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Virginia is seeking an RN for Ambulatory Surgery Care. The role focuses on preop evaluations, patient education, IV therapy, and surgical site verification, with on-call during select non-business hours.

You will work within a dynamic, interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, applying evidence-based practices and thorough documentation throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• RN licensed and in good standing.
• ACLS within 4 months of start date.
• BLS within 90 days of start date.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and perioperative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
