Job summary

Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough, a member of Empath Health, is seeking an Admissions Registered Nurse to join our caring team in Pinellas County with travel throughout the service area. The role focuses on assessing eligibility and coordinating admission for patients in hospitals, homes, ALFs, and LTC facilities.

This position requires an Florida RN license, valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Schedule Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Valid Florida RN license.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.
• Valid CPR certification (American Red Cross or AHA).
• Ability to lift/pull/push up to 50 lbs.
• Typing speed 25 wpm preferred.
• Pre-employment computer literacy evaluation required.

Responsibilities

• Assess eligibility for Empath Health Network of Care and facilitate access in any care setting.
• Complete admissions process based on care program guidelines and patient needs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and EMR billing requirements.

Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation.* For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.
