Job summary

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR is seeking a skilled L&D RN to support obstetric patients from triage through postpartum in a Baby-Friendly, team-first unit. You will monitor fetal status, assist vaginal and cesarean births, administer meds, document clearly, and educate families on newborn care, with ongoing AWHONN/NRP education to grow professionally.

This role partners with physicians and the care team to keep moms and babies safe, while maintaining infection prevention

Qualifications

• Current Arkansas RN license (or compact eligible).
• BLS at hire; NRP within 6 months of hire.
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course per recommendations; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• BSN; 2+ years of nursing experience (OB preferred).
• ACLS; S.T.A.B.L.E. within 1 year.
• RNC-OB or other OB certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Triage & Assessment: Admit/assess OB patients; update care plans; keep providers informed.
• Labor & Delivery: Monitor fetal status; support vaginal and cesarean births; administer meds per protocol.
• Postpartum & Education: Manage recovery; teach newborn care and feeding; monitor for complications.
• Newborn Care: Perform initial checks; support temperature, breathing, and glucose stability.
• Teamwork & Safety: SBAR handoffs; Baby-Friendly practices; accurate EHR documentation.
