Job summary

Brivo is seeking an RMA Technician to join our Manufacturing Operations team in Austin. This entry-to-mid-level role pays $18.00 to $20.00 per hour and collaborates with Quality Control, Technical Support, Manufacturing, and Inventory teams to inspect, diagnose, and repair returned hardware and video surveillance equipment.

You will perform root-cause analysis, refurbish viable hardware, and share defect data with engineering.

Qualifications

1-3 years experience in hardware repair, RMA processing, or related support.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware components (motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage).
Experience with basic hand tools, testing tools, and handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and log returned hardware, cameras, bridges, and CMVR units into the inventory tracking system.
Perform root-cause diagnosis and hardware troubleshooting down to the component level (CPUs, RAM, storage, power delivery, firmware).
Disassemble, repair, refurbish, or replace defective hardware components according to SOPs.
Reflash firmware, test system BIOS, and perform functional stress-testing on repaired units.
Accurately document failure analysis, defect codes, and repair actions in databases.
Collaborate with Quality Control and Hardware Engineering teams to highlight recurring failures.
Process return inventory movement, including sorting parts for scrap, RTV, or refurbished stock.
