Job summary

The Texas Workforce Commission is located at 1117 Trinity St., Austin, Texas. The Risk & Security Management Department seeks a proactive Risk Management Specialist II to perform moderately complex risk management work under general supervision and contribute to statewide initiatives.

You will review risk programs for compliance, assist with incident reports and risk assessments, and help develop policies and procedures while collaborating with other teams. Travel up to 25% is involved.

Qualifications

  • Two years of full-time experience in planning or operation of risk management, information security, loss control, and/or the workers' compensation and safety programs.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied towards experience qualifications for this position.

  • Conduct on-site inspections of agency facilities to identify hazards and risk exposures.

What You Will Do

The Risk Management Specialist II performs moderately complex (journey-level) risk management work. Work involves implementing agency risk management programs and conducting risk management. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

  • Proficiency in developing, evaluating, and interpreting policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of program management processes and techniques.
  • State agency experience.
