Job summary

Southwire Company LLC invites driven students to a Risk Management Insurance Intern/Co-op role. This remote program blends classroom learning with practical projects, delivering a structured onboarding, mentorship, and senior leadership exposure.

Internships run in summer (May 17–Aug 6). Interns typically work 10–12 weeks; co-ops 16–18 weeks, and high performers may be considered for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in risk management, insurance, compliance, or related business functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet due dates.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Research and compile risk exposure data to support insurance policy renewals.
• Review, audit, and track incoming and outgoing Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for compliance with company and contractual requirements.
• Maintain and update the insurance policy database, including policy records, coverage information, and renewal dates.
• Assist with collecting, organizing, and validating insurance and risk management data from internal stakeholders.
• Support insurance documentation, record retention, and special projects as assigned.
