Job summary

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) in New York City is seeking a Staff Analyst to support the Division of Child and Family Well-Being. The role focuses on risk and integrity duties within policy and compliance to safeguard funds and ensure program accuracy.

Reporting to the Director for Risk and Integrity, you will conduct investigations, oversee documentation, prepare monthly case reports, review eligibility, and train staff on fraud indicators including FEDS.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the described areas.
  • Associate degree plus four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the described areas.
  • Four-year high school diploma and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the described areas.
  • Combination of education and/or experience equal to the above; college credits substituted for experience as allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations, including site visits and administrative reviews of child care providers.
  • Request additional documentation and identifying cases that need to be referred to NYC’s Front End Detection System (FEDS).
  • Complete monthly reports on cases identified using FEDS indicators.
  • Conduct a review of cases to verify an applicant’s continued need for child care.
  • Provide training to ACS and NYCPS eligibility workers on indicators of fraud, including FEDS indicators and procedures.
