Job summary

Santander US is hiring for an Associate Credit Risk Quality Control role within the CIB First Line of Defense. You will develop and execute Credit Risk QC programs to ensure underwriting aligns with internal standards and regulatory expectations, collaborating with Credit Professionals, Risk Managers, and Issues Management.

The role emphasizes independence, issue identification, and remediation across multiple business lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
• 5+ Years Experience in Credit Management, Internal Controls, Auditing, Risk Management or other relevant line of business.
• Strong written communication skills with ability to document findings and present conclusions to senior management.
• Advanced understanding of the regulatory environment and how risks are viewed by second line and regulators.
• Demonstrated judgement in escalation to provide risk-based visibility to senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and execute Credit Risk QC programs across the First Line of Defense.
• Ensure loan portfolio underwriting conforms to internal credit standards and regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate with CIB Credit Professionals, Credit Risk Managers and Issues Management on remediation efforts.
• Provide independent challenge to business and credit teams and identify weaknesses for remediation.
