Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage complex logistics independently and under pressure.
• Strong analytical, writing, and editing skills with experience creating complex documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn enterprise software systems.
• Knowledge of property, casualty, or workers' compensation insurance contracts and terminology.
• Experience interpreting and explaining insurance provisions and coverage.
• Experience identifying and resolving insurance problems for commercial insurers.

Responsibilities

• Manage the risk management program for the institution and work with the state Risk Management Program to reduce exposure and loss costs.
• Serve as primary liaison for liability insurance, overseeing claims management, certificates, policy implementation, and renewals.
• Manage and update institutional insurance policies for property, vehicles, and other policies using state software.
• Coordinate insurance-related site visits.
• Develop and maintain liability waivers for high-risk events in compliance with guidelines.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of risk management activities.
• Establish procedures for reporting injuries, property damage, theft, and accidents; standardize communications.
• Administer budgets for Risk Management.
• Support compliance efforts by coordinating with campus departments and the Chief Compliance Officer.
• Assist in state-required compliance reports, internal audit responses, and conflict-of-interest responses.
• Ensure Risk Management websites and related pages are accurate and up to date.
• Research and interpret laws and policies into guidance for risk mitigation decisions.
• Provide guidance on risk-related events, including after-hours scenarios.
• Support risk-related tabletop exercises and employee training.
• Other duties as assigned, including activities to recruit and retain students.
