Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage complex logistics independently and under pressure with sound discretionary decision-making.
• Strong analytical, writing, and editing skills with experience evaluating information and preparing complex documents for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn enterprise software systems.
• Knowledge of property, casualty, or workers' compensation insurance contracts and related industry terminology.
• Experience interpreting and explaining insurance provisions including coverages, limits, exclusions, and coverage adequacy.
• Experience identifying and resolving insurance problems for commercial insurers and interpreting insurance documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage the risk management program for the institution and collaborate with the state's Risk Management Program to reduce exposure and loss costs.
• Serve as the primary institutional liaison for liability insurance, overseeing claims management, certificates, and policy implementation/renewals.
• Manage and update all institutional insurance policies using state software to maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate any insurance-related site visits.
• Develop and maintain liability waivers for high-risk events and activities, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
• Maintain documentation of all risk activities.
• Establish procedures for reporting injuries, property damage, theft, and accidents with campus stakeholder coordination.
• Administer budgets for Risk Management.
• Support compliance efforts by coordinating with campus departments and the Chief Compliance Officer.
• Assist in preparing state-required compliance reports and audit responses.
• Ensure Risk Management websites are accurate and up to date.
• Research and interpret laws and policies into guidance for risk minimization.
• Provide guidance on risk events, including after-hours scenarios.
• Support risk-related tabletop exercises and training.
• Other duties including recruitment and retention activities.
