Job summary

Coconino Community College seeks a safety and risk professional to develop and oversee enterprise risk management and workplace safety programs. You will lead OSHA compliance, support CDC guidance, and coordinate with insurance carriers on risk controls and claims.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience in public sector or higher education environments, with focus on regulatory compliance and safety training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, EHS, risk management or closely related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in workplace safety, health and safety compliance, risk management, insurance/loss control, or regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise risk management and workplace safety compliance program for the College.
• Lead compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable workplace safety standards.
• Support public health guidance and CDC recommendations.
• Ensure SDS compliance and coordinate with departments on handling and training requirements.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers on renewals, loss control, and claims management.
• Review contracts for risk exposure and insurance requirements.
• Collaborate with insurers to manage coverage and claims.
• Conduct regular risk assessments for facilities, projects, and events.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor policy compliance.
• Maintain risk registers and report to leadership on risk exposure and progress.
• Provide guidance to departments on risk-related issues and best practices.
