Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 5+ years in insurance/risk management.
• OR an Associate's degree plus 3+ years in insurance/risk management.
• OR a Bachelor's or higher plus 1+ year in insurance/risk management.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong communication.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work after hours.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Hoover Driver's Permit.
• Alabama notary or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Receives notices of new claims from city departments.
• Establishes claims in Risk Management software and filing system.
• Notifies Third-Party Administrator of new claims.
• Notifies medical clinics of workers’ compensation claims.
• Coordinates medical treatment for workers’ compensation claims.
• Keeps injured employees and supervisors informed on claims.
• Processes medical invoices for TPA; handles expenses and requisitions.
