Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Early Career Project Planning & Controls Specialist for onsite work. The role focuses on monitoring budgets, maintaining schedules, and producing progress reports to senior leaders.

The candidate will coordinate resources, manage changes, and work with engineers and managers to align project objectives with program goals. The position requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field and the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Responsibilities

• Monitoring project budgets, tracking expenditures, forecasting costs, and identifying cost variances
• Developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules using Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6
• Preparing regular status reports on project progress, schedule adherence, and budget performance for stakeholders and senior leadership
• Analyzing project data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Tracking and documenting changes to project scope, schedule or budget and assessing their impact on project objectives
• Coordinating resource allocation and availability to ensure project milestones are met
• Working closely with project managers, engineers, peers and other stakeholders to align project plans and controls.
