Job summary

Mattel, headquartered in Los Angeles, seeks a Paralegal for its Rights Management team within Legal and Business Affairs. You will execute end-to-end contract and rights management processes for entertainment and consumer products IP.

The role emphasizes IP portfolio mastery, collaboration with Legal, IT, Finance, and business units, and driving system adoption while ensuring accurate records and licensing clarity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience working in IP or rights management within media/entertainment and/or consumer products.
• Knowledge of IP law and licensing concepts.
• Proficiency with enterprise rights management platforms (RightsLogic preferred) and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in Mattel’s IP portfolio and rights
• Digitize historic agreements by identifying and ingesting into the rights management system
• Analyze ownership and licensing with judgement on escalation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to guide inquiries, ensure records, and facilitate collision checks
• Serve as a super user of the rights management system and recommend enhancements
• Develop cross-functional relationships with Legal, IT, Finance, Royalty Accounting, and business units
• Interface with IP, In-/Out-Licensing, Franchise, Permissions & Promotions, and Digital Games teams
• Help drive user adoption and effective use of the rights management system
