Job summary

Mattel, Inc. seeks a skilled Paralegal to join the Rights Management team within Legal and Business Affairs at our Los Angeles HQ. You will manage IP rights, support licensing activities, and maintain accurate system records across departments.

The role requires 2+ years in IP/rights management, strong IP knowledge, and hands-on proficiency with enterprise platforms including RightsLogic. Collaboration with dynamic teams and timely deliverables are essential.

Qualifications

2+ years of IP/rights management experience in media/entertainment and/or consumer products
Knowledge of IP law
Hands-on experience with enterprise rights management platforms (RightsLogic preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint; Tableau/Power BI

Responsibilities

Develop expertise in Mattel’s IP portfolio and rights
Digitize historic agreements and ingest into the rights management system
Analyze ownership/licensing arrangements and elevate inquiries when needed
Collaborate with stakeholders to guide rights inquiries and ensure accurate records
Serve as a system super user and suggest enhancements
Develop cross-functional relationships across Legal, IT, Finance, Royalty Accounting, and business units
Interface with IP, In-/Out-Licensing, Franchise, Permissions & Promotions, and Digital Games legal teams
Drive user adoption and effective use of the rights management system
