Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Rigging Engineer to support Equipment Operations on U.S. projects. The role involves developing rigging and bull rigging plans, calculations, and lifting specifications to ensure safe, efficient heavy lifts and transport.

You will collaborate with engineering and field teams to align with project layouts and safety standards. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent and experience with lifting equipment, codes, and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with 2–5 years of rigging engineering experience or 6–9 years of relevant work in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in reviewing and approving heavy/oversize lift plans and liaising with subcontractors.
• Proficiency in selecting cranes and lifting hardware and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rigging plans, calculations and specifications for rigging material and lift equipment.
• Review and approve bull rigging plans under direction of certified rigging engineers.
• Select crane sizes, lifting hardware, and equipment for safe execution of lifts.
• Calculate sling loading and edge protection requirements and verify codes and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering on plant layout, foundation and vessel/module lift considerations.
• Ensure rigging work follows approved plans and supports project scheduling.
