Job summary
Bechtel Equipment Operations, Inc. seeks a Rigging Engineer based in Houston City West initially and relocating to projects within the US.
You will provide technical support to construction personnel on rigging and lifting procedures to ensure safe, compliant execution. Responsibilities include preparing rigging and bull rigging plans, selecting cranes and hardware, reviewing lift plans, and coordinating with engineering and safety teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited university (or international equivalent).
- 2-5 years of relevant rigging engineering experience in construction; or 6-9 years in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of rigging standards, lifting equipment, and ASME B30.20 BTH-1.
Responsibilities
- Prepares rigging plans, calculations, and specifications for rigging material and lift equipment.
- Prepares bull rigging plans for the project under Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineers direction.
- Reviews/approves bull rigging plans and heavy lift plans per procedures.
- Selects cranes, lifting hardware, and equipment for safe medium to heavy lifts.
- Coordinates with engineering on plant layout, foundation design, and loadings.
