Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Rigging Field Engineer for a long-term Pecos, TX project. You will mobilize to the site on a camp assignment, prepare lift studies, and coordinate with field engineers and superintendents to ensure safe, compliant rigging work.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 8–14 years of relevant experience. You will review subcontractor bids, develop lift plans, and train crew members, contributing to efficient, safe project execution.

Qualifications

  • Extensive rigging planning and execution knowledge.
  • Experience with lifting equipment, heavy transport, and load distribution.
  • Understanding of safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Experience supervising personnel and coordinating subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepares conceptual lift and transport studies.
  • Provides technical input into transport and rigging strategies for crane and heavy lift requirements.
  • Prepares specifications for bid packages and assesses subcontractor bids.
  • Supports estimates; prepares lift data sheets and calculations.
  • Reviews and approves medium/critical lifts and site transport plans with Bechtel CRE.
  • May supervise lifting operations and coordinate schedules with Project Controls.
  • Develops rigging training materials and conducts training courses.
  • Monitors standard work processes; ensures compliance with rigging plans.
  • Provides leadership to promote a safe work environment.
