Job summary

Ranger Energy Services, LLC is seeking a Rig Operator to manage controls and equipment on a well servicing rig. The role involves supervising crew, ensuring safety, and coordinating with customer representatives to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality service on location.

The candidate should have extensive rig experience, strong leadership, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues while promoting Stop Work Accountability and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Seven (7) years’ experience on a well servicing rig preferred
• Five (5) years’ experience on a well servicing rig preferred
• Two (2) years’ experience as a relief operator preferred
• Must be able to perform duties of Floor Hand III and derrick hand
• Must be familiar with pump and tank operations
• Must have valid driver’s license / CDL or ability to obtain one
• Ability to perform manual labor for well servicing equipment
• Strong communication, people, and leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
• Understanding of workover/completions operations
• Flexible work schedule

Responsibilities

• Promote RES safety policies and procedures
• Operate the rig safely during rig up/down and pulling operations
• Inspect and maintain equipment and safety systems
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and customer representatives on location
• Train and mentor crew members on day-to-day operations
• Stop work if conditions are unsafe and report concerns
• Complete field tickets in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and request repairs as needed
• Perform torque calculations and specs
• Oversee JSA/DWP and tail gate meetings
• Oversee pipe tallying, rigging, and BOP operations
• Ensure site and equipment are clean and in good working order
• Oversee daily lubrication and minor adjustments
• Oversee energy isolation procedures
• Report incidents per SOPs
• Assist with document collection and management with HSE/DOT and other departments
