Job summary

Universal Orlando is seeking a Mechanical/Structural Engineer to redesign and develop Ride and Show systems for greater reliability and safety. You will lead design modifications, support downtime recovery, and coordinate with ride supervisors, managers, and technicians to ensure quality and on-time project delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Structural/Civil) and 3–5 years of related experience in mechanical/structural systems for dynamic motion

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of mechanical/structural systems.
  • Background in design of welded structures and structural steels; familiarity with AWS/AISC.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic/pneumatic design and motion control concepts.
  • Experience with motion control, show, and animation systems.
  • Experience developing component and system specifications and acceptance tests.

Responsibilities

  • Implements design modifications to Ride and Show system equipment to improve safety, reliability and serviceability.
  • Manages projects from design through installation, including schedules, testing and budgets.
  • Prepares scopes of work and Acceptance Test Procedures for system modifications and maintenance procedures.
  • Interfaces with ride supervisors, managers and technicians to resolve issues and coordinate activities.
  • Monitors vendors and reviews equipment specifications; performs technical evaluations of products/services.
  • Performs engineering calculations for design, analysis and implementation of mechanical/structural systems.
