Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking a senior engineer to perform design modifications to mechanical/structural ride systems, ensuring safety, reliability and operational readiness for park attractions.

The role involves managing projects from design to installation, coordinating with supervisors and technicians, and interfacing with vendors for problem resolution and product evaluation. A strong background in mechanical/structural engineering and experience with motion systems is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • 7+ years of project engineering experience in mechanical/structural systems for dynamic motion (mobile) systems in theme park environments.
  • Strong analytical skills for design, analysis, testing and implementation of mechanical/structural modifications.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and relevant codes (NEC, AWS, ASTM, F24).

Responsibilities

  • Design modifications to ride and show system equipment to improve safety, reliability, and diagnostics.
  • Manage projects from design through installation, including schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare scope of work documents and acceptance test procedures for modifications.
  • Coordinate activities between ride supervisors, managers and technicians.
  • Interface with vendors to resolve problems and evaluate products/services.
  • Perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of modifications.
