Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support for existing and new theme park attractions. You will troubleshoot downtime, redesign mechanical/structural systems, and manage outsourcing and scheduling for projects to improve reliability.

Role requires on-site work five days a week with potential for off-site with approval. Requires strong knowledge of codes and standards including ASTM F24, AISC, ASME, NEC, and OSHA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years mechanical/structural detailed design experience for dynamic motion systems/components.
  • 3+ years project engineering experience in mechanical/structural systems in a large machine environment.
  • Proficient analytical skills for design, test, and implementation calculations.
  • Proficient in welding design, structural steels, gearing, and fabrication processes.
  • Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic design and familiar with components.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, ANSI, and ASTM (F24) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to day-to-day sustaining engineering calls and troubleshoot recurring issues.
  • Re-engineer attractions including mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Produce scope of work for capital design projects and manage from design to installation.
  • Develop and oversee project schedules and budgets.
