Job summary

Idaho Power Company, based in Mountain Home, Idaho, seeks a Generation Technician to join the RICE maintenance team. The role involves hands-on design, installation, maintenance, and testing of power plant equipment and control systems, with opportunities to lead projects and support Generation Specialists.

The position requires a solid electronics background, including electrical theory, SCADA/PLC/HMI experience, and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires a strong foundation in electrical theory, measurements, and control circuits.
• Knowledge of solid-state theory, and applicable electronics disciplines is essential.
• Experience with SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and PC-based control applications is needed.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics for multiple vendors is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, maintain, and test power plant equipment and control systems with minimal supervision.
• Install and maintain communications, SCADA, protective relays, telecom, HVAC, and electrical equipment.
• Perform daily operating and maintenance tasks for safe, efficient engine power plant operation.
• Provide technical support and lead electrical installation projects as needed.
