Qualifications

• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Training: Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship.
• Licensure: Vermont license or eligibility to obtain license.
• Certifications: Board certification or active board eligibility in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology; active DEA.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders.
• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, and assess disease activity and response.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, bone health tests to guide decisions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including DMARDs, biologics, and other therapies.
• Prescribe and monitor therapies, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Perform joint injections, aspirations, and other rheumatology procedures.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, risks, benefits, and self-management.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and comply with guidelines.
• Collaborate with primary and specialty teams for coordinated care.
• Participate in protocol development, meetings, and department initiatives.
