Job summary

Bluesight is seeking a firmware‑focused engineer to own maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting across our RFID reader models, with hands‑on work in Python and Go and field support responsibilities.

You’ll be a full member of a 10‑person KitCheck engineering team in a hybrid role based in Austin, collaborating closely with hardware and RFID software specialists to grow our device‑control platform and performance‑sensitive scanning code while delivering excellent documentation and support to

Qualifications

• Able to ramp into new stacks and languages across several device lines.
• Collaborates closely with product and domain experts on firmware.
• Strong communication, proactive updates and flagging blockers early.
• Experience with firmware or embedded software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware across RFID reader models: maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Produce and maintain support documentation for live-device field support.
• Take ownership of the codebase: review and contribute to PRs across languages.
• Grow expertise in RFID device-control platform and performance-sensitive code.
