Job summary

SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation™ is seeking an embedded software engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for battery-powered sensing devices in a regulated hardware program.

You will work closely with electrical engineers to optimize sensor drivers, wireless protocols, and power management, delivering reliable, testable firmware for next-generation products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong background in C/C++ for embedded, resource-constrained systems.
• Experience with sensor integration and real-time data acquisition.
• Familiarity with wireless communication protocols.
• Comfortable working within a regulated design environment.
• Ability to read and understand complex technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for compact, battery-powered sensing devices, prioritizing reliability, power efficiency, and data integrity.
• Implement and optimize sensor drivers and signal-processing pipelines for real-time data acquisition.
• Develop and maintain wireless communication and data transmission protocols for secure, reliable connectivity.
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to bring up and validate new hardware revisions.
• Implement low-power modes and battery management strategies to extend device runtime.
• Write and maintain unit/integration tests and support verification activities for a regulated product.
• Maintain clear documentation of firmware architecture, design decisions, and test coverage.
