KitCheck's hardware fleet spans multiple RFID reader models, each with device-specific firmware written in different languages and frameworks. We're looking for an engineer to take ownership of maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and supporting that firmware in the field.
You’ll be a full member of our 10-person KitCheck engineering team, working especially closely with our three-person hardware and RFID software team — a tight-knit group where firmware sits at the center.
This role is roughly 75% software, 25% hardware. This is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX.
Our codebase spans several languages depending on the device line, including Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, TypeScript, and Ruby.

The standard base pay range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 when annualized. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for an amazing benefits package. The actual amount of salary offered will vary depending on the position level, experience and performance.
This position is a hybrid role with regular in-office collaboration in our Austin, TX office and open to qualified applicants in the continental United States who are eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship. Relocation is not provided.
