Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician in McKinney, TX for a 3rd shift onsite role to support evaluation, repair, and rework of RF electronics and related assemblies. You will read schematics, troubleshoot complex hardware, and collaborate with senior engineers.

Candidates must have an AA/AS degree with 6+ years of experience, be able to obtain a DoD security clearance, and perform hands-on electrical testing in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or equivalent with at least 6 years' relevant experience.
• 6+ years as an engineering technician with background in electrical design support and troubleshooting.
• Experience testing or troubleshooting electronic assemblies at the component level.
• Experience with test/evaluation equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and RF gear.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot STE including automation, electrical and RF pathways, mechanical and pneumatic assemblies.
• Troubleshoot power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power analyzers.
• Evaluate failed electrical assemblies and determine root cause with test equipment.
• Electronic troubleshooting through hands-on experience rather than scripted procedures.
• Collaborate with senior Electrical Engineering, test technicians, and QA to repair and move assemblies through Repair & Return processes.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics; maintain ESD control.
