Job summary

RTX, the world\u2019s leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a senior mechanical engineer with 8+ years of experience to lead a section of engineers in Plano, TX. You will drive RF systems design, integration, and documentation for critical hardware programs.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, with relocation eligibility and a competitive benefits package. You will mentor staff and coordinate with proposal teams to advance program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with RF systems or subsystems design/integration.
• Team leadership with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical execution.
• Active U.S. Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Raytheon/RTX security and program requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a section of 10–15 Mechanical and/or multi‑disciplined engineers.
• Provide technical oversight for proposals and EVMS/EAC tracking, risk and opportunity management.
• Design, test, integrate, and document mechanical design of hardware systems and subsystems.
• Ensure work products meet cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements.
• Maintain section staffing capabilities and engage with team on performance and career development.
• Support recruitment and personnel retention efforts.
