Job summary

Energous Corporation in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced RF Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, development, validation, and optimization of wireless power network solutions for asset tracking, location intelligence, and environmental monitoring.

The role requires strong RF system design, wireless communications, antenna integration, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional product development from concept through mass production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Wireless Communications, or related discipline.
• Master's or PhD degree preferred.
• 5–10+ years of RF consumer electronics or wireless embedded products experience.
• Strong understanding of RF circuit design, wireless communication systems, electromagnetic theory, antenna design, and impedance measurements.
• Experience with RF simulation tools and PCB RF layout optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize RF systems for asset tracking products across BLE/Wi‑Fi/UWB/LoRa/Cellular IoT.
• Develop complete RF architectures balancing range, cost, throughput, and latency.
• Perform RF simulations, link budgets, propagation modeling, and system-level evaluation.
• Validate matching networks and optimize RF front-end performance.
• Collaborate with PCB designers to ensure RF layout and signal integrity.
• Lead RF characterization using VNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, RF meters, OTA systems.
• Support antenna selection, tuning, and integration across product platforms.
• Troubleshoot RF issues during development and manufacturing.
• Support DFM/DFT and production yield initiatives.
