Job summary

Industrial Scientific is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer, Wireless/RF/EMC, to lead electrical and wireless outcomes for new product development. You will define architectures, drive verification, and ensure regulatory readiness across cross-functional teams in our Western Pennsylvania facility.

The role requires a strong background in RF, EMI/EMC, mixed-signal systems, and battery-powered electronics, with a focus on robust design, documentation, and certification support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience developing electrical hardware products.
  • Experience with wireless, RF, mixed-signal, or EMC-sensitive electronic systems.
  • Experience defining requirements, verification approaches, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with PCB design, electrical architecture, component selection, and system integration.
  • Experience identifying and resolving RF, EMC/EMI, SI, PI, or wireless coexistence issues.
  • Experience with RF and electrical test equipment and engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting RF, EMC, or wireless certification testing and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting products through design, validation, and release.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and decompose system, electrical, wireless, and regulatory requirements into robust product architectures and technical solutions.
  • Lead the design, integration, verification, and release of wireless, RF, mixed-signal, and battery-powered electrical systems.
  • Serve as a technical lead on cross-functional development projects, driving alignment across teams.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to RF performance, wireless coexistence, EMC/EMI, SI, PI, or regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, verification evidence, and design review materials.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues affecting product performance and manufacturing readiness.
  • Establish and improve engineering standards, practices, and reusable design approaches.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, certification agencies, and development partners.
