Job summary

RTX in Andover, MA seeks a motivated Principal Electrical Engineer for the Metrology & Test Equipment Maintenance (MTEM) department. This on-site role leads root-cause investigations of automated test equipment across RF, digital, and power platforms, coordinating across multiple support areas.

The candidate must have an advanced capacity for fault isolation, ownership of complex tests, and the ability to work in a high-tempo manufacturing environment. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of RF test equipment design or troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause analyses on complex, multi-platform automated test equipment down to component level.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in RF, digital, and power diagnostics.
• Identify hardware retrofits and engineering changes to resolve obsolescence and performance issues.
• Operate with minimal supervision to maintain test platforms and minimize downtime.
• Interpret schematic drawings to troubleshoot test stations and equipment.
• Document fault logs and repairs to improve uptime.
