Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree with 5 years auditing experience.
• CPC or CCS-P certification.
• RHIA/RHIT with coding experience may be considered if CPC/CCS-P within 6 months.
• Three years of E/M and/or surgical coding experience.
• Extensive knowledge of regulations for documentation, coding and billing.
• Advanced ability to analyze patient records for CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding.
• Commitment to continuous learning and leadership in coding staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and perform reviews of professional services and documentation.
• Evaluate clinical documentation to identify inconsistencies impacting reimbursement.
• Review charges and insurance forms for accurate coding and posting.
• Prepare audit reports for leadership and providers.
• Develop educational presentations and training materials.
• Provide education on CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers.
• Serve as liaison for clinical coding inquiries in revenue cycle.
• Collaborate with physician leaders, IS, Compliance and administration for coding education.
• Assist with denial reviews to improve reimbursement.
• Analyze billing trends and report findings to committees.
• Assist in corrective action plans and investigations.
• Manage special projects and track coding quality for ROI.
• Perform duties with customer service focus.
