Job summary

Xtensys, a rapidly growing MSP focused on health systems, seeks a Revenue Cycle Trainer to educate and elevate the Revenue Cycle team. You will design curricula, deliver instructor-led and online training, and partner with departments to improve quality metrics and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Epic Revenue Cycle experience.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations including patient access, insurance billing and claims management.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering revenue cycle training programs.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Identify training gaps and develop curriculum to address them.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead training design, curriculum development, media formats, testing and proficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to identify key training opportunities and develop learning curricula.

The Role:

Your Mission: The Revenue Cycle Trainer works as an integral part of the Revenue Cycle team. Responsible for training all Revenue Cycle staff, this role assists the manager in developing, implementing, instructing, and evaluating education and training programs related to revenue cycle. This position collaborates with all departments to ensure training needs are met and provides feedback to the manager on the development of revenue cycle quality metrics and quality review processes. The individual will foster a culture of patient-centered care, quality outcomes, and service excellence through the planning, development, and implementation of key training programs and initiatives.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:
  • Lead all activities related to training, curriculum design and development, training media/formats, testing and proficiency standards, creative delivery strategies, and reporting in conjunction with the Training and Quality Manager.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to identify key training opportunities; leverage data from quality monitoring, calibration calls, and observations to address training gaps and develop strategic learning curriculum.
  • Track progress of training programs and continuously adapt content and cadence as needed in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
  • Ensure effective education on content knowledge, operational workflows, quality metric expectations, and customer service for both newly onboarded and existing team members.
  • Apply relevant learning theories and appropriate channels (online, instructorled, resource guides, job aids) in the design, development, and delivery of educational material.
  • Conduct needs assessments, identify gaps in curriculums, and create/execute strategies to support business functions.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
Who You Are & What You’ll Bring:
Proven Track Record:
  • Epic Revenue Cycle Experience: 2+ years of experience working with Epic revenue cycle applications and processes.
  • Revenue Cycle Knowledge: Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, including patient access, insurance billing and claims management, payer reimbursement, payment posting, collections, denials, guarantor collections, and related processes.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with medical coding systems and revenue code structures, including ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, APG, and APC; handson experience with Epic and other healthcare information systems, including EHR, practice management, and revenue cycle applications; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Training & Instructional Design: Experience designing, developing, and delivering revenue cycle training programs, including curriculum development, instructorled and online training, learnerfocused materials, job aids, and proficiency assessments tailored to varying levels of experience and learning needs.
  • Facilitation & Communication: Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively guide, educate, and interact with staff and external contacts.
  • Analytical & ProblemSolving Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with initiative to identify barriers, develop solutions, and drive process improvements.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Ability to build collaborative relationships across operational and support teams while working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of healthcare regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Organization & Adaptability: Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
Education:
  • Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certifications:
  • Epic Resolute HB Credential Trainer Certification Preferred
  • Epic Resolute PB Credential Trainer Certification Preferred
Physical Readiness:
  • Primarily sedentary work involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, frequent keyboarding and data entry, and the ability to communicate effectively via telephone and video conferencing.
