Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking a Revenue Cycle Optimization Educator to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training for Patient Access staff. You will lead onboarding, refresher programs, and payer-specific updates, ensuring education aligns with quality metrics.
Partnering with Denials Specialists, QA Representatives, and operational leaders, you will analyze audits to identify gaps and customize learning solutions.
The Revenue Cycle Optimization Educator shall be responsible to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs that elevate the accuracy, competency, and ongoing professional development of Patient Access staff across Baptist Health. The Educator will collaborate closely with Denials Specialists, Quality Assurance Representatives, and operational leaders to identify training needs, close knowledge gaps, and reinforce sustainable education across all Patient Access workflows. This individual will develop and maintain a full suite of training solutions—including new hire onboarding, annual refresher programs, targeted ad hoc training, payer‑specific updates, and system enhancement education—based on quality audit findings, denial trends, and operational performance metrics.
In partnership with Information Technology and Revenue Cycle stakeholders, the Educator will also support system testing, workflow validation, payer rule configuration, and new edit creation to ensure that system functionality aligns with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and payer expectations. This individual will ensure that front‑end teams are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and standardized processes required to minimize registration errors, reduce preventable denials, maintain compliance, and deliver exceptional accuracy within the revenue cycle. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Education, or a related field preferred. Formal training or coursework in medical terminology preferred. Additional experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, Patient Access, or Front‑End Revenue Cycle Operations, Adult Learning Theory or Instructional Design, Training and Development, Quality or Process Improvement. Minimum 1‑2 years hospital‑based patient access or 5 years hospital and/or ambulatory physician office‑based experience required. Prior experience in training, quality review, instructional design or front‑end revenue cycle operations strongly preferred. Experience supporting registration, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, or financial counseling required. Experience in denial prevention, quality auditing, or revenue cycle improvement preferred.
CPAR or CHAA preferred.
