Job summary

HappyRobot is building a Revenue Accounting function from the ground up. You will design the close process for platform fees, consumption, and services, while automating steps with AI finance tools.

This 0-to-1 role reports to the Head of Accounting and blends accounting rigor with scalable engineering mindset. You will implement an ERP-backed revenue sub-ledger, collaborate with Sales and RevOps on ASC 606 treatment, and own end-to-end OTC procedures, policies, and strategic initiatives in a

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of revenue accounting experience in consumption, usage-based, or SaaS models.
• Automation mindset with scalability and efficiency in mind.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI finance tools in workflows.
• Strong cross-functional judgment balancing automation with human review.
• Deep technical command of ASC 606 and multi-element arrangements.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design & scale Revenue Close: automate monthly/quarterly close across all revenue streams.
• Drive Process Automation: deploy AI agents and automated workflows with human-in-the-loop checks.
• Configure Sub-Ledger Systems: help set up a new ERP revenue sub-ledger with robust methodologies.
• Advise Deal Strategy & ASC 606: collaborate on complex contracts embedding ASC 606 treatment.
• Manage Order-to-Cash (OTC): oversee billing, collections, reconciliations, and aging analysis.
• Establish Accounting Policies: draft policies and lead strategic, ad-hoc initiatives.
