Job summary

HappyRobot Inc. is building a scalable revenue accounting function from scratch, reporting to the Head of Accounting. This 0-to-1 role combines design and hands-on automation to recognize platform fees, credits, services, and usage overages.

You will architect monthly close, automate processes with AI tools, and partner with Sales/RevOps to ensure ASC 606 compliance. Ideal for finance engineers who value scalable systems and speed.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of revenue accounting experience in SaaS or usage-based models.
• Automation-minded with ability to design scalable financial architecture.
• Hands-on with AI finance tools and automation software.
• Strong judgment balancing automation with human review.
• Deep ASC 606 knowledge, including multi-element arrangements.
• Excellent cross-functional communication, especially with Sales & RevOps.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA active or in progress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale monthly and quarterly revenue close.
• Drive process automation using AI agents and workflows.
• Configure revenue sub-ledger for new ERP and monthlies.
• Advise on ASC 606 treatment for complex contracts.
• Manage Order-to-Cash: billing, collections, reconciliations.
• Establish revenue policies and lead strategic initiatives.
