Job summary

HappyRobot is seeking a Revenue Accounting Lead to stand up our revenue accounting function from scratch. You will partner with the Head of Accounting to design processes and automate tasks using AI finance tools, building scalable systems rather than just processing transactions.

You will own the revenue close, ASC 606 treatment, AR accounting end-to-end, and collaborate with RevOps to review contracts and pricing for proper recognition.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of progressive revenue accounting experience, ideally SaaS or usage-based.
• Finance engineer mindset: build scalable, automated processes.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in day-to-day work and adapting to new automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Build the revenue close process (monthly/quarterly) and automate steps.
• Identify and replace manual revenue tasks with automation; determine human-in-the-loop steps.
• Own and configure revenue sub-ledger and true-up calculations.
• Collaborate with Sales and RevOps for ASC 606 treatment in contracts.
• Own AR accounting end-to-end: reconciliations, aging, allowances with automation.
• Draft revenue policy memos and policies with clear judgments.
