Job summary

Cosmo Appliances is seeking a Returns Specialist to manage the inspection, testing, and organization of returned kitchen appliances to ensure quality and proper disposition.

You will handle receipts, documentation, and shipping consolidation, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues. This role requires strong attention to detail in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in returns, quality control, or inspections
• Able to lift and maneuver up to 70 lbs frequently
• Experience with Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
• Proficient with smartphones for daily tasks (photos, emails)
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Able to stand for long hours in a fast-paced environment
• 1+ years in returns, distribution, warehouse, or inventory handling
• Knowledge of warehouse operating procedures

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, repair, and organize returned kitchen appliances and check quality
• Assist in consolidation and storage of received products
• Receive return merchandise and follow return procedures for each product type
• Distribute returned items to proper locations
• Pick and pull orders of open-box returned items for will-call and online customers
• Document damage with photos and notes in internal systems or paperwork
• Identify and report recurring product or packaging quality issues to vendors
• Serve as internal point of contact for returned merchandise and become product expert
• Identify critical storage, distribution, and quality issues and report to management
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Perform other tasks to meet team goals
