Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is hiring a First (1st) Shift Returns Processor in Modesto, CA. Opens and verifies returned merchandise, scans items, and places freight in proper locations. The role requires standing for long periods and the ability to scan products, with six months warehouse experience preferred.

Shift is Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm. Pay is $20.20 per hour with an attendance bonus and benefits beginning on day 30.

• Must be able to stand for long periods and scan product.
• Experience with returns processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify returned merchandise and scan items.
• Load, unload, move, stock, and stage product; may use powered equipment.
• Ensure scanned freight reaches the correct destination (slot, destroy, salvage).
• Identify items requiring special processing (hazardous material, salvage).
• Verify the original packaging matches items to be scanned.
• Perform duties to support accurate and efficient processing of all freight.

Role Purpose Opens and verifies returned merchandise, scans merchandise, and places freight in proper locations.

Key Accountabilities

• Load, unload, move, stock, and stage product. May require using powered equipment.
• Verify proper item is in the original packaging in preparation for scanning.
• Assure accurate and proper processing of all freight utilizing the scanning system.
• Identify items that require special processing or separation (e.g. hazardous material, store services, research, salvage).
• Ensure that scanned freight reaches the appropriate destination (e.g. slot, destroy, salvage).
• Stack and tape pallets in a safe manner.
• Observe all safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
• Material handling equipment certification, preferred
• Six months warehouse experience, preferred
• Six months forklift operation experience, preferred
