Job summary

Jumia is seeking a Defective Team Leader to oversee the defective warehouse operations, including receiving, reconciliation, and exclusive inventory management for returned items.

You will ensure quality checks, accurate damage categorization, and maintain precise inventory records while preventing losses. The role emphasizes leadership, process improvements, and timely escalation of issues to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain or related field.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and email.
• Experience in FMCG or warehouse management.
• Experience with quality assessment and aftersales processes is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime occasionally.
• NYSC certificate or exemption.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, reconciliation, and exclusive inventory management of defective items.
• Ensure proper quality checks and accurate damage categorization.
• Maintain precise, up-to-date defective warehouse inventory records.
• Ensure defective packages are logged into the warehouse system on time.
• Prevent inventory losses through monitoring of stored items.
• Manage queue and storage of items in transit to the defective warehouse.
• Drive performance management, including appraisals and training of the team.
• Suggest system improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Escalate discrepancies to senior management promptly.
