Retirement Service Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a Retirement Service Specialist to help employees and plan sponsors better understand and navigate their retirement plans. This is an education- and service-focused position for someone who enjoys working directly with people, presenting information, answering questions, and helping participants feel more confident about their retirement benefits. The ideal candidate will have experience in retirement plans, financial services, employee benefits, or a related field and will be comfortable communicating with both individuals and groups. This role is 100% remote and offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with participants, plan sponsors, HR teams, and financial professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging retirement plan education and enrollment meetings for employees and plan participants.
- Provide one-on-one education and support to participants regarding plan features, contribution strategies, investment options, and retirement readiness.
- Help employees navigate the enrollment process and better understand their employer-sponsored retirement benefits.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for participant questions and retirement plan education.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with plan sponsors, HR contacts, financial advisors, and other key stakeholders.
- Partner with internal Relationship Managers and other teams to develop effective participant education and communication strategies.
- Lead virtual presentations, workshops, new-hire meetings, benefit fairs, and other educational sessions.
- Explain retirement plan and investment concepts in a clear, simple, and engaging manner.
- Follow up with participants and plan sponsors to ensure questions are addressed and a high level of service is maintained.
- Document meetings, participant interactions, questions, and follow-up activities accurately within the company's CRM.
- Participate in occasional client meetings or events as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in retirement plans, financial services, employee benefits, wealth management, or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, not required.
- Strong presentation, communication, and public-speaking skills.
- Comfortable presenting to both large groups and individuals.
- Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to explain retirement and financial concepts in a simple, approachable manner.
- Enjoys working directly with people and providing education and support.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant experience.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client or participant meetings and educational events.
- Licensing FINRA registration is preferred, but not required.
- Series 6 or Series 7 preferred.
- Series 63/65 or other applicable licenses are a plus.
- Candidates without current securities registrations may be considered based on relevant experience and willingness to obtain the appropriate licensing.
Compensation & Work Environment
Base salary up to $70,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional bonus opportunity. 100% remote position. Occasional travel for client meetings, educational sessions, or participant events.
