Job summary

Meijer is hiring a store leader in Champaign, IL. You will plan, direct, and coach store team members to deliver exceptional customer service while achieving sales and maintaining store standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of retail experience and at least 1 year of management. You will oversee staffing, training, and development, and play a key role in promoting a safe, high-performing store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to lead a safety-conscious organization and mentor team members.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and maintain shrink for the department.
• Ensure the store operates with excellent customer service and safe work practices.
• Provide direction and training to team members and ensure adherence to Meijer standards.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment.
