Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store manager for Michigan operations. You will lead day-to-day store activities, mentor staff, manage staffing and training, and ensure strong P&L performance while upholding safety and Meijer standards.

You will drive customer service excellence, implement development plans, and coordinate with departments to maintain product flow and sales growth across shift teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills with the ability to lead teams.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Experience teaching suggestive selling and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes career development and promotion decisions.
• Disciplinary actions when needed and recommend discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.

• Mentor team members to exceed goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is trained and completed required training.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure service.
