Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotation through meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development; support promotion decisions.
• Documents disciplinary actions and helps manage performance while upholding company standards.
• Manage P&L, sales, and shrink; maintain store standards and product presentation.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and completes required training.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
